And How Do I Use It?

description
Written by Anne Pierson, co-founder of Loving &
Caring, the books in the My Baby and Me series are written for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Birthmothers start with
The Me I See and then move into one or more of the other books in the series. These counseling tools can be used during individual counseling or within group sessions.
Start with
The Me I See
to quickly get to know the birthmother and move on to
Basic
Decision Making.
By the end of this workbook, the birthmother
should have begun to examine her options regarding
parenting or making an adoption plan.
Next, explore the basics of parenting and adoption with the booklets,
What About
Adoption? and
Is Parenting for Me Now?
The
booklets
Looking at Adoption and
A Place
to Call Home will help the birthmother dig deeper into these issues and gain assurance that she has seriously considered all
of the options for herself and for her child.
In the series for birthfathers, begin with
The Me I See for Guys and move on to
Basic
Decision
Making for Guys, before addressing the specifics in
When Guys Ask,
What About Adoption? and
When
Guys Ask, Is
Parenting for Me Now?
If you are using these books in your center, assign a booklet or a workbook chapter as “homework” and discuss specific areas of concern within the counseling session. Each workbook chapter includes a bonus section with a *scriptural look at the issues covered in that chapter. If your center uses a point or “mommy bucks” system, give additional points for filling out the bonus section.
Some of the books in the My Baby and Me series are
also offered in Secular and Spanish versions.

*Scriptural
references are not included in the secular
versions of
My
Baby and Me books.
