Building a group
housing program is much like building a house.
From vision and blueprints to establishing a solid
foundation, framing, finishing, decorating, and finally
moving in, each step is crucial to the overall success.
Likewise for establishing a group housing program.
You probably have a
vision, or at least a desire, to reach out to women who
are facing an unplanned pregnancy or who are struggling
as single parents. your heart may ache for them
knowing that something needs to be done to help
them through this stressful, frightening time in their
lives.
A group housing program
is one very practical way to reach out by providing for
their basic needs and offering support, counseling, and
other care.
Group housing is not a
uniquely Christian phenomenon. Several hundred
programs around the United States, and around the world,
provide housing and services to women and children.
But group housing does provide a unique opportunity for
Christians to put their faith in action, to represent
Christ in a meaningful way, and to fulfill the Great
Commission to "Go and make disciples" (Matthew
28:19). We at Loving & Caring believe that this is
the foundation for a group home.

Does Your Housing

Maintaining a housing
program is very similar to maintaining a physical home.
In a physical home we upgrade the carpet, repaint, put
on a new roof or do some remodeling. It may be a
simple repair or a major renovation. In order for
our homes to be their best we need to have ongoing
maintenance. This can also be true of a group
home.
